Microneedling came of age in the Nineties when early needles were basically tattoo pistols without ink. Dermatologists used these needles to “traumatize” the skin into recreating collagen, the protein that restores your youthful complexion. 

Today’s estheticians use either fixed-type needles or electric needles with sterile tip pins. These pins can hold from 12 to 36 tiny, fine, needles. During microneedling, the esthetician makes a couple of passes over the treatment area as the needles rapidly vibrate in and out of the skin. 

Our Beauty Bar Med Spa esthetician will be happy to review our entire microneedling process — before, during and post treatment. Try to avoid prolonged sun about seven days beforehand. Although microneedling is a non-invasive procedure, there could be minor discomfort so, discuss your pain tolerance with your esthetician.
