I had been feeling a little stressed lately. When I heard that breathing in oxygen was a stress reliever, I was thrilled to discover relief in quaint, downtown Covington, Georgia in the Oxygen Lounge of the Beauty Bar Med Spa. The room was darkened, the music was soothing and four pretty bottles of “flavored” oxygen intrigued me. I chose Lavender. I gently placed the pink nose hose at the entrance to my nostrils and hooked the cord around my ears to keep the nose hose in place. The small, dispensing machine rhythmically hummed as it filled up with the Lavender oxygen. I inhaled the subtle aroma of lavender. Then, I gradually blocked out the cares of the world for 12 delicious minutes of oxygen. As I let my body and mind unwind, I barely noticed the amazing health benefits that I was receiving. I began to feel a general sense of well-being. After a few minutes, I was feeling more alert, focused and energetic. As I drove to Covington, I knew the rain was coming by the pain in my ankle from arthritis. I was invited to experience a Foot Detox treatment at the Beauty Med Spa. But detoxing my feet? Seriously?
